Spatial extent of precipitation events: when big is getting bigger

چکیده
Abstract Using a sub-selection of regional climate models at 0.11° ( $$\approx$$ ? 12 km) grid resolution from the EURO-CORDEX ensemble, we investigate how spatial extent areas associated with most intensive daily precipitation events changes as consequence global warming. We address this by analysing three different warming levels: 1 °C, 2 °C and 3 °C. find that not only does intensity such increase, but their size will also change function warming: larger systems becomes more frequent larger, while lesser are reduced in numbers.

The Bigger Brauer Group Is Really Big
I show that each étale n-cohomology class on noetherian schemes comes from a Čech cocycle, provided that any n-tuple of points admits an affine open neighborhood. Together with results of Raeburn and Taylor on the bigger Brauer group, this implies that for schemes such that each pair of points admits an affine open neighborhood, any étale Gm-gerbe comes from a coherent central separable algebra...

متن کامل802.11 Buffers: When Bigger Is Not Better?
While there have been considerable advances in the modelling of 802.11’s MAC layer in recent years, 802.11 with finite buffer space is considered difficult to analyse. In this paper, we study the impact of finite buffers’ effect on the 802.11 performance, in view of the requirements of interactive applications sensitive to delay and packet loss. Using both state-of-the art and simplified queuei...
متن کاملBigger uncertainties and the Big
We use Bayesian hierarchical models and recent results from the theory of minimax confidence interval estimation to study the effect of prior information in a cosmological inverse problem. We consider the effect of prior information on uncertainty estimates of a linear functional Lx of an infinite-dimensional model x, given noisy observations y = Kx+x. The model represents the cosmic microwave ...
متن کاملPredictive Modeling With Big Data: Is Bigger Really Better?
With the increasingly widespread collection and processing of "big data," there is natural interest in using these data assets to improve decision making. One of the best understood ways to use data to improve decision making is via predictive analytics. An important, open question is: to what extent do larger data actually lead to better predictive models? In this article we empirically demons...
